Dosage and Administration

Sprinkle gently in body folds, creases or any dermal area where excess moisture may accumulate. Excellent for use on breast irritation, dermatitis or on feet to control odor and eliminate pathogens. Use as a barrier on all pressure points to prevent skin breakdown. Sprinkle Formula Magic® lightly over 3-M "Tegaderm" transparent dressing and gently smooth over top and edges of dressing to hold tape in place. The lubricating action of the powder will hold tape firmly in place and eliminate edge curling. The antimicrobial powder will also provide additional barrier protection from pathogenic organisms.

An important adverse effect of excessive moisture in bedridden patients is to significantly increase the coefficient of friction between the stratum corneum and bed sheets or gowns. Motion against this higher friction level results in an increase in shear force and damage potential increases to already weakened tissues. Formula Magic® should be lightly sprinkled on bed linens to aid in the reduction of shear and utilized as a preventative measure against skin breakdown, irritation, and infection.
